Journalist and broadcaster Jim White has updated his Twitter feed about Rod Stewart’s pre-match plans for Celtic v Rangers. The Scottish Champions host their Glasgow rivals in the final league meeting of the season and it could be pivotal in determining where the league title will end up.
Taking to his Twitter/X on Friday evening, the Talksport presenter said that Stewart would be making the game despite having gig commitments in Antwerp on the same day.
Only a @CelticFC super fan like Sir Rod Stewart would fly to Antwerp this morning to rehearse for the opening show of his European tour
Then fly to Glasgow tomorrow morning for the lunchtime Old Firm clash, then back to Antwerp to go on stage tomorrow night! pic.twitter.com/YS9n8wXSMK— Jim White (@JimWhite) May 10, 2024
The Maggie May singer is one of thousands that will be making their way over the coming hours to get to Celtic Park for the Lunchtime kickoff. Buses, trains, planes and boats will be used as the Celtic support converge upon Paradise as Brendan Rodgers’ side look to put one hand on the title with a win.
To be fair, Stewart is in the advantageous position as he has the benefit of access to his own private jet that can facilitate his travel to and from the Belgium city.
The game kicks off at 12:30pm.
